Engagement Ring Style Trends

If you’re about to put a ring on it (or hoping to see one on your finger asap) it’s important to find the perfect one — after all, it’s going to be worn for a lifetime. Deciding on an engagement ring can sound stressful! How do you know what stone to look for? Do buy 18 karat gold or platinum? Before you get overwhelmed by all the choices, we’ve rounded up the latest engagement ring style trends that are sure to get a “yes!”

Colored Stones

Ditch the traditional diamond and go for something a lot more colorful! Colored stones like emeralds, sapphires and rubies create a gorgeous ring that will attract all eye. Pair a few of your favorite colors together for a rainbow of beautiful hues. Include you or your partner’s birthstone or favorite stones to add sentimental meaning to the engagement ring.

Vintage Rings

Timeless, classic and never out of style, you cannot go wrong with a vintage engagement ring. By definition, a vintage ring is 20 years old or more and an antique ring is 100+ years old. Shop pre-owned rings or propose with a family heirloom for a true vintage piece.

If you love the look of antique jewelry but want to add a modern spin, select a vintage-inspired ring, like an Art Deco style with platinum band and colorful gemstones or a ring with Victorian elements like a yellow gold band or solitaire diamond.

Sustainability

Feel good about your purchase with a sustainable engagement ring. Select a band made from recycled metals. Look for ethically-sourced or lab-grown diamonds. Less energy is used for a lab-grown diamond’s production, leading to a lower carbon footprint than a mined diamond. Not only is a lab-grown diamond environmentally-friendly, they often come with lower price tags than mined diamonds because the cost of mining labor is removed.

To make a sustainable buying decision it is important to ask questions. Inquire about the history of your stones. Where and how were they mined? Where did they go after the mining process? What certifications have they gone through to determine their conflict-free status?  Do your research, you deserve all the answers before spending money on an engagement ring.

Three Stone Engagement Rings

What’s better than one stone? Three! A three stone engagement ring can look any way you want - a variety of different stones, all of the same stones, a diamond in the middle with a gem on either side, there is an endless list of combinations to create your dream ring.

Stackable Rings

Think it can’t get better than one engagement ring? It can. Stackable rings are the start of something new. Beautiful on their own, a singular stackable ring can serve as an engagement ring and has the opportunity to be accentuated with additional rings of various styles. Start with the engagement ring as the center of the stack then add to it in honor of celebrations and milestones such as your wedding birthday, anniversary or the birth of a child. You can even add to it just because, no reason required. Stack your way and create a style all your own.
